Eve has been endorsed by the New York Working Families Party to be a voice for working people on Buffalo Common Council. "Eve Shippens is a public school teacher running for Buffalo Common Council to build healthy neighborhoods, invest in our youth, and support workers’ rights. We are thrilled to endorse her run to represent the North District."
The Buffalo Teachers Federation endorsed their own Eve Shippens for North District Common Council. Shippens is a 22-year Buffalo Public Schools science teacher, and a longtime active member of BTF, serving on the union’s Executive Committee for the past 6 years, as well as the Community Engagement and Political Action committees.
Eve Shippens has been endorsed by Lead Locally, an organization that supports political candidates who pledge to fight back against fossil fuel projects and to fight for a just, green economy.
Eve has been endorsed by Our City Action Buffalo, along with Kathryn Franco for University District and India Walton for Masten District. "We are proud to endorse progressive leaders who are dedicated to working alongside their constituents to fight injustice and create a more equitable Buffalo," said Monica Stephens, chair of the group’s Endorsement Committee. “Franco, Walton and Shippens have devoted their careers to listening and caring for people in our community. Their fresh ideas will pave the way for innovative legislation in the Common Council and create a better future for all residents of our city.”
Eve has been endorsed by Pushing Latinos Forward. "We need to introduce energy and economic light to the North District. Pushing Latinos Forward is convinced that Eve Shippens is the right person at the right time. Her education, her community experience, and her passion are very real. We need to move this city forward,” says Jose Pizarro, Co-Chair, Pushing Latinos Forward.
“The people of Buffalo deserve representatives who fight for their right to climate justice. The WNY Youth Climate Council is endorsing Council candidates who are prepared to enact climate justice for all of their constituents," says Valerie Juang, general organizing co-director of the WNY Youth Climate Council. “From housing equity to extreme weather preparedness and beyond, these community leaders center solutions with the vision and engagement necessary for building a better Buffalo.”
Eve has been endorsed by Climate Cabinet Action. “Eve Shippens is the kind of candidate who is putting in the work and is ready to make an immediate impact the moment she’s elected to office. Most importantly, Shippens has a pro-climate plan that will transform Buffalo and create a better future for the families who call it home," says Caroline Spears, executive director for Climate Cabinet Action.
Eleanor's Legacy, an organization that has been supporting pro-choice Democratic women running for state and local office throughout New York State for more than 20 years, has endorsed Eve!
"Eve's long history as a leader in the NYS teachers union and her family’s traditional labor activity makes Social Democrats USA proud to endorse her. We are confident she will do a great job in the Common Council as a community leader and as a working-class mom who knows what it’s like to pay a mortgage bill and raise children," says Michael Mottern, first vice chair for Social Democrats, USA.
